Abstract :
As a closure to this discussion, the authors thank the discusser, Chen Xiangxun (see ibid., vol.18, no.2, p.655, 2003), for his reply and interest in their original paper "Frequency Characteristics of Wavelets" (see ibid., vol.17, p. 794-99, 2002). They agree that a proper choice or design of wavelet depends on the application; a specific wavelet may be an excellent candidate for one application and be a poor choice for a different application.
