Abstract :
This paper introduces a probabilistic method to calculate the total accident probability of a power grounding system. It takes into consideration the human body resistance, the foot-to-ground contact resistance, the fault clearing time, the occurance of ground fault, the person´s exposure to the dangerous voltage all as random variables, instead of one fixed value. Sensitivity analysis was carried to determine the effects of various random variables on the total accident probability.
