Abstract :
A three-pass identification protocol using coding theory has been presented by Girault (see Proc. Auscrypt ´90, vol. 453, p. 265-72, 1990). This proposed scheme is very simple to describe, but is not practical because the scheme requires a large amount of communications and memory bits. The author proposes an improved protocol using rank distance codes, in which the number of both communications and memory bits are greatly reduced
