Abstract :
This paper presents a method of generating a class of equivalent p -port networks for which the open-circuit impedance matrix Z_p remains completely invariant. The networks are generated from an initial network by a congruence transformation of the nodal admittance matrix Y_n of the (n + 1) -node network from which the p -ports are extracted. The transformation method, the invariance of Z_p , and a method of computing Z_p from Y_n are then used to formulate an efficient iterative procedure for synthesizing resistive networks exactly on a k -tree port structure.
