Abstract :
This paper is a continuation of the investigation reported previously1,2. The relationship of electro- chemical and electrical trees found in service-aged cables is evaluated. Additional observations and evaluations are made in light of new knowledge of electrochemical treeing including the use of a dyeing technique which affects the data previously reported. Two cable designs which have been shown to be particularly susceptible to electrochemical treeing and early failure are described.
