Abstract :
Wireless broadband has filled the communication gap for rescue workers before the return of land- and cellular-based technologies. These high-speed Internet connections are carrying voice and data for crews working in New Orleans and the Biloxi-Gulfport areas hardest hit by Hurricane Katrina.
