Abstract :
The concept of a CIM (computer-integrated manufacturing) networking architecture for integration of factory and office communications is introduced. Some potential problems in CIM networking and approaches for their solution are elucidated. A simulation methodology is presented for evaluating the performance of integrated networks with different protocols and architectures and under diverse operating conditions.<>
