  • Abstract
    The combined effects of fault resistance and load flow cause the apparent impedance for ground faults to vary over a wide range. A new ground distance relay using a four input phase comparator provides improved security with a fault resistance capability similar to that of a simple quadrature polarized ground distance relay.
