Abstract :
This work develops new approaches for analysis of piecewiselinear resistive networks using an operations research analysis scheme called Complementary Pivot Theory. Complementary problem formulation for operating point and driving-point plot analysis is discussed for a general class of networks. Alternate solution determination for a general complementary problem is approached using both simple pivot operations and a breakpoint tracing technique. For networks containing active elements, the complementary approach is found to be remarkably effective at finding multiple operating points as well as driving-point (DP) or transfer characteristic (TC) plots consisting of several unconnected pieces.
