Abstract :
A new viewpoint-invariant Fourier descriptor is presented which can be used for 3-D planar object recognition without requiring camera centre knowledge of the viewing position. The descriptor is derived from the linear paraperspective projection model which is relatively simple to work with, and the approach has the advantage of providing a close geometric camera model for 3-D applications
