  • Abstract
    A predictive sub-codebook searching (PSCS) algorithm is proposed for the vector quantisation of images. Computer simulations using real images show that the PSCS algorithm is very efficient because it requires the minimum number of operations and there is also ~8-21% bit-rate reduction when compared with other existing fast VQ encoding algorithms
