A new procedure has been developed for the synthesis of a class of nonminimum phase functions. This class is widely encountered in the design of linear phase selective filters. The procedure is based upon the extraction of the pair of transmission zeros

by a two-port network. The network consists of shunt capacitors, invariant frequency elements (imaginary resistors) and ideal immittance inverters. The resulting networks are of a conjugate symmetry. The synthesized prototype networks can be transformed easily for microwave applications.
