Abstract :
An automatic routing system is described, which can be applied to single-layer analog printed wiring boards (PWB´s) and hybrid IC´s. This system is distinctive in that the routing process is implemented through a number of stages such that at each stage an interference relation for the from-to´s which remain to be interconnected is sought, and then according to the interference information thus obtained, a maximal set of wire patterns which do not intersect each other is generated. Several experimental results are also shown to reveal how much the system attains its potentialities to be of great use in the practice of layout design for single-layer analog PWB´s and hybrid IC´s.
