Abstract :
Parallel damping (PD) passivity-based control (PBC) of buck and boost quasi-resonant converters (QRCs) is presented. In PD-PBC, damping is injected at the voltage coordinate in contrast to standard PBC in which series damping is injected on the input current. This results in a closed-loop system which is robust against load variations and with the ability to shape the output. Due to the nature of the dynamics of QRCs, both output capacitor voltage and inductor current measurements are needed. Simulation results to illustrate the features of the proposed strategy are also presented.
