Abstract
Knowledge of Dc series motor parameters as a function of frequency and degree of magnetic saturation are essential in applications where the motor is to be chopper controlled, such as in electric vehicles. Knowledge of the inductance is necessary for proper chopper selection; knowledge of all parameters is necessary in order to predict dynamic performance and efficiency. The latter is directly related to the range of a battery powered electric vehicle.
