  • Abstract
    It is shown that the usual nonperiodic solution of d2y -+ e(1 + k cos t)y = 0 dt2can always be interpreted in the stable case as a wave undergoing simultaneous phase and amplitude modutlation. An analysis is carried through on this basis.
