    As global competitiveness has escalated the race for ever-improving quality, Baldrige and ISO 9000 have become pivotal forces in evolving quality improvement toward universal criteria defining what quality is and how it is achieved. This article clarifies the objectives of Baldrige and ISO 9000 and how they improve quality, compares their relative advantages, and shows how they can complement each other.<>
