Abstract :
The application of the general reciprocity theorem for low-frequency networks to circuits which do not satisfy the conditions of the near zone and which include distributed electromotive forces is examined for the case of the parallel line. It is shown that the reciprocity theorem is valid in general only if induced electromotive forces exhibit a cosine-symmetrical distribution along the wires (in which case they may be represented by a single pair of equivalent point generators) or if the line is terminated in its characteristic impedance.
