Abstract :
In the first part of the paper are pointed out the disadvantages of using truly parallelepiped rooms for the recording of sound-the tendency of such rooms to have harmonically related eigentones, to exhibit coincident regions of maximum and minimum sound pressure, and to be too "dead" because of the large amount of acoustic material required to suppress echoes. The second part of the paper is devoted to the description of a scoring stage recently completed in Hollywood.
