Abstract :
The theory of electrostatic precipitators as it applies to the collection of particulate from a pulp mill recovery boiler is reviewed. Emphasis is placed on the fundamental physical relationships that exist between the electrical and aerodynamic characteristics of the particulate. A discussion of the difference in the behavior of the precipitator with the conventional and low odor systems is included. A comparison of the design and measured mass efficiency from a number of installations in included.
