Abstract
This paper describes the state-of-the-art Bayer facility at the Pilar Industrial Park near Buenos Aires, Argentina, where the pain reliever, aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid), is produced. With an annual production capacity of more than three billion over-the-counter tablets, the facility´s manufactures Bayer´s full line of tablets and effervescent granules, as well as diagnostics-reactant strips used for blood and urine samples. Apart from incorporating cutting-edge technology, the new plant allowed Bayer to concentrate all production for the Southern Cone region into one site. On top of compliance with domestic policies, the plant´s general operation and hygiene practices meet CE norms
