Abstract
Mixtures of half metallic CrO2 and metallic MoO2 were prepared by ball milling. Specific magnetization σ and magneto-resistance (MR) were measured for (CrO2)1-x(MoO2)x for x=0 to 1. Above x=0.1,σ and MR-ratio (MRR) were monotonously decreased with increasing MoO2 content. At x=0.05, enhancements of saturated magnetization σs, remanent magnetization σr, and coercive force Hc were observed. Slightly increasing MRR and spin polarization coefficient P were also found at x=0.05. These anomalous behaviors were possibly due to the difference of energy band structure of half-metallic CrO2 and Pauli paramagnetic MoO2 in the powder mixture system.
