Abstract
Current-Fed Switched Inverter (CFSI) was proposed as a single-stage, high-boost, EMI immune inverter. It provides very high voltage boost by utilizing the shoot-through of the inverter legs, although this puts restriction on the upper limit of the modulation index. In this paper, various coupled inductor derived topologies of CFSI are proposed which enables the inverter to operate at higher modulation index and provide higher voltage-boost at the same time. Six possible coupled inductor derived topologies are discussed in this paper out of which two topologies are discussed in details. Operation of these inverters is validated by the experimental results which show good correlation with the theoretical analysis.
