Abstract
This paper presents the sensorless control of PMSM drive using Extended Kaiman filter (EKF). The state space model of PMSM is developed and EKF is used for speed and position estimation. Speed control is carried out using Integral Sliding mode controller (SMC). With Integral SMC, the dynamic performance of the drive is improved under varying load conditions and parameter variations. MATLAB simulation of a 1.7Nm, 300Vdc, 3750rpm PMSM is presented in this paper and studied subject to system disturbances, variations in speed and load.
