Abstract
In this article, the author argues that a number of factors should be considered when coordinating transfer switching and grounding of engine generator sets. He argues that the proper grounding and selection of transfer switches assures safety of personnel, protection of equipment, reliable ground-fault sensing, and continuity of power to electrical loads.
