Abstract
Conventional methods of analysis of switched-capacitor (SC) circuits treat switches as time varying topological constraints. This paper proposes a wave characterization of SC elements which permits treatment of switches as circuit elements, rather than as constraints. A vector formulation then allows an analytical treatment of passive SC circuits as time-invariant linear networks. The motivation for the work is primarily theoretical: it is of interest to see that switches can be treated as circuit elements in their own right.
