Abstract
The characteristics of a magnet rotator using rare-earth permanent magnets moving over the conducting plate are studied with both experimental and theoretical works. In the analysis, a three-dimensional dynamic electromagnetic analysis and the two-dimensional finite element analysis are used. The magnet rotator has the large thrust for its size and weight. The thrust can be used efficiently in a relative large equivalent slip. For the use in the high moving speed, the magnet rotator with small driving power can flow the large eddy current behind it.
