Abstract
Installations of extruded insulated conductors in conduits and cable trays are examined. Recommended allowable pulling tensions and sidewall pressures as well as minimum allowable bending radii are defined. Equations for calculating pulling tensions and sidewall pressures are given, taking into account the weight-correction factor. A graphical method for the general solution of weight-correction factors, sidewall pressures, and pulling tensions, is described and illustrated. Proper design of raceway systems and recommended procedures for cable installations are discussed. An example of calculation for the installation of cable in a tray is included.
