Abstract
A requirement for new electrostatic devices of crude but very low-cost extra high voltage (EHV) power supplies has been met by modifying existing circuits in a relatively minor way. Two such systems are described. For the first, the relatively expensive components normally specified have merely been ``designed out´´ but at some sacrifice to electrical efficiency. In the second case, component additions to a volume-produced circuit intended for other purposes have enabled a very low-cost system to be realized. Output power is very limited, however, for this latter system.
