  • Abstract
For pt.I see ibid., vol.13, no.1, p.8-11 (2007). This paper deals with the development of the Mechanicville hydroelectric power plant near Alban, New York, which is believed to be the oldest continuously operating hydro plant in North America. This series will focus on alterations of the plant throughout its operation. While the Mechanicville hydroelectric station´s turbine and generator´s mechanical and electrical aspects have remained virtually unchanged for over 100 years, the electrical switchgear and transmission system have had to adapt to keep pace with the evolutionary development experienced by the electrical industry over the same century
