Abstract
In the control system for optimum thrust-speed performance, the accurate base speed must be considered by the useable limits of the dc-link voltage as well as the characteristics of design parameters in the manufactured motor. Therefore, this paper represents a base speed calculation of a permanent-magnet linear synchronous motor system by analytical method and experimental open-loop control. Then, by using the obtained base speed, we verified speed-field-oriented control of a manufactured motor within an optimum control boundary.
