Abstract
A new method of designing output-feedback dynamic compensators for stability enhancement of a class of SISO and MIMO systems is presented. The compensator parameters are so chosen that some or all of the system eigenvalues are assigned to prescribed values. A salient feature of the proposed method is that the problem of pole assignment is transformed to that of solving a set of algebraic equations. The effectiveness of the method is demonstrated repeatedly using several numerical examples.
