Abstract
A voltage-driven class E power amplifier topology is presented. The operating principle of the circuit is explained, and measurement results for a MIC implementation using an OMMIC ED02AH 6×50 μm pHEMT as the active device are given. At the nominal operating frequency of 870 MHz, the MIC achieves 18 dB maximum gain, produces 18 dBm output power, and a maximum power added efficiency of 93%.
