  • Abstract
An empirical equation is presented which predicts the velocity produced by a pressurized ink-jet nozzle. This equation, which has a simple exponential form, expresses the velocity in terms of two empirical constants; the fluid parameters of pressure, viscosity, and density; and the nozzle parameters of length and diameter. Velocities calculated with this equation are compared graphically to several sets of experimental data.
