Abstract
We present measurements of the small-field magnetic response of non-oriented 1.8 wt% SiFe and rapidly-quenched 6.5 wt% SiFe as a function of various magnetic histories. The first part of the return branch originating from a given turning point (H0,B0 ) was fitted by the quadratic law B-B0=μrev (H-H0)±(b/2) (H-H0)2 and the dependence of μrev and b on (H0,B0 ) and magnetic history was studied. μrev and b approximately follow the laws μrev∝[1-(B0/Bm)2 ]+const, b∝[1-|B0/Bm|], μrev ∝ exp[-H02/2σμ2 ]+const, and b∝exp[-H02/2σμ2 ]
