Abstract :
After mentioning the difficulties when multiplying, dividing, or heterodyning frequencies, conversion is proposed in all cases where a rigid coupling is desired, alternating multiplying and dividing stages. A computer program is enclosed that secures that the machine delivers all possible solutions, with the smallest amount of stages, after fixing the maximum factor (e.g., 5) for the multiplying stages as well as the error tolerance range. Some ideas are included regarding the tolerance range to employ. Two examples and some ideas are included in order to adapt the program to different equipment from the one used in the test.
