  • Abstract
    We present a cost-effective 24-channel two-dimensional (2-D) optical interconnection module. The optical module consists of a 2-D reflective mirror with high coupling efficiency, a hot-embossed 2-D optical waveguide, a 2-D uni-ferrule, a silicon optical bench for passive alignment, and a high-speed FR-4 printed circuits board. In a transmitter-receiver link test, the fabricated module exhibited the desirable characteristics of low jitter and rise-fall times at a channel data rate of 2.5 Gb/s.
