  • Abstract
Magnetic bearings are one of the more interesting applications for high temperature superconducting materials. Different structures of permanent magnets and superconductor are studied assuming a total Meissner effect. The use of alternated poles highly increases axial forces and stiffnesses. Consequences of real superconducting material behavior are discussed
