Abstract :
Magnetization, magnetic anisotropy and ferrimagnetic resonance linewidth measurements have been made on a series of NiZn-ferrite films synthesized using a low temperature (T<100°C) ferrite plating technique developed by one of the authors. Films made by this technique are of considerable interest because of their potential use in the fabrication of non-reciprocal components for high frequency device applications. Our results show the films are textured and have a large magnetic anisotropy perpendicular to the plane of the film and a much smaller in-plane anisotropy. The magnetization, magnetic anisotropy and resonance linewidth scaled with ferrous ion concentration. The magnetic anisotropy is explained in terms of a single ion anisotropy directed along a [111] texture
