Abstract :
Ansaldo is manufacturing 326 quadrupoles for the ESRF (European Synchrotron Radiation Facility) storage ring. After the manufacturing design phase, four prototype quads have been built and tested in Ansaldo workshops. Having verified the reliability of the design and improved the manufacturing process for full production, Ansaldo is now delivering the magnets at a high production rate. The authors describe some relevant aspects of the design and summarize data recorded during three test campaigns
