Abstract
In order to obtain a compact lightweight electric power source for ground vehicles, ships, and airplanes which cannot be fed from external power sources, a super high-speed reluctance generator system is proposed. The system consists of a reluctance machine, a voltage source inverter, and control circuits. The output characteristics are calculated using an equivalent circuit of the reluctance generator. The experimental results obtained at 24 000 r/min show that an efficiency of more than 85 percent and an output of more than 1.5 kW were achieved. The excellent agreement of the measured and calculated values verified the correctness of the analysis method and parameter measurements.
