  • Abstract
    In past issues of the column there have been articles about European Commission (EC) funded programs and also national programs (e.g., in Spain), both focusing on services and applications. In order to provide a holistic view of European programs, there is an important missing piece: the so-called Eureka program that is jointly funded by 41 countries. Within Eureka the cluster devoted to telecommunications is called Celtic (Cooperation for a Sustained European Leadership in Telecommunications) with a budget in the range of e1 billion. EUREKA
