Abstract :
The authors present their fuzzy control sodium nitroprusside perfusion (SNP) system and its clinical performance in regulating mean arterial pressure in postsurgical patients in the cardiac surgical intensive care unit. A wide variation of patient sensitivity to SNP was experienced during the clinical trials, which was handled satisfactorily by the fuzzy controller. In conclusion the authors expect their fuzzy control SNP delivery system to perform well for most patients.<>
