Abstract
An approach to estimate the speed and rotor resistance of an induction machine from measured terminal voltages and currents is described. In this approach, the speed and rotor resistance are considered to be unknown constants, because the speed and rotor resistance change slowly compared to the electrical variables such as currents and fluxes. Based on this assumption, a new speed and rotor resistance estimator is defined and its performance is analysed and verified experimentally.
