  • Abstract
An overview of the fundamentals of metallic corrosion and commonly used methods for corrosion control are presented. A specific example of accelerated corrosion damage to the underground structures at a western cement manufacturing plant is provided. The installation of a cathodic protection system to prevent corrosion damage to buried structures at the plant is also described.
