Abstract :
The November, 1942 edition of the Standard for Power-Operated Radio Receiving Appliances\´ of Underwriters\´ Laboratories, Inc., was given approval by the American Standards Association (ASA) and is now a recognized American Standard. This is the sixth edition of the Standard, superseding the edition of April, 1938, and it is the third edition of the Standard which has had ASA approval. The Standard contains the Laboratories\´ requirements for power-operated radio receiving appliances for non-commercial use, designed to be employed on interior wiring systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code. The requirements, in so far as they apply, cover also television receivers, non-commercial or domestic phonographs, record players, recorders, and similar equipment. Battery chargers, however, either portable or for permanent installation and not intended for use with radio appliances, are classed as rectifiers and are not covered by the requirements. It presents recent data on a design and production question normally requiring the engineer\´s consideration.]
