Abstract :
This paper discusses the relationship between total energy consumption of reprographic equipment, which is measured using the ASTM Standard 757-82, and the power consumed when the equipment is in either standby or copying mode. Standby and copying power are both calculated using the same standard and then compared to the measurements made with a watt-meter. The variables affecting machine energy, which include copy time, cycle-up time, cycle-down time, and document exchange time, are examined for opportunities to reduce energy consumption
