Abstract
Generally, in the far IR (300-3000,¿m), measurements of atmospheric transmittance are made with rather sophisticated instruments using liquid helium. These are not suitable for long-term monitoring of the atmosphere. In this short paper, a simple radiometer able to measure atmospheric transmittance in the 7-10-cm-1 window, is described and preliminary results are presented.
