Abstract :
This paper investigates the use of Ultra Wideband (UWB) Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging for multiple targets. The system geometry is presented with the necessary conditions for multiple target resolvability. These conditions are specified by the cross-range and range resolutions. If any of these conditions is satisfied, the receiver can distinguish the different target positions otherwise it will image them as one single large target. In the simulation results, two targets are used to show the capability of this approach in resolving multiple targets images which are formed by combining the Range Profile Reconstruction (RPR) with the corresponding Cross-range Profile Reconstruction (CPR) value.
