Abstract :
This paper describes the key technologies of an automated optical main-distributing-frame system for the fiber-to-the-home network. The system consists of an optical matrix-board with a groove at each cross-point and a precision robot mechanism that manipulates refractive index matching oil. Experimental results for a prototype model confirm the feasibility of lightwave cross-connection
